Easter

I'm going to apologize right now for the length of this post. It has TONS of pictures but nothing compared to how many we took this weekend! We had a very busy Easter but it was GREAT. There's some video at the end of the post, mostly for cousins and grandparents to see their grandkids in action. Feel free to browse or come back when you have more time =). Make sure you look at the pictures of the kids in their Easter clothes. I LOVE how they look! My sister Tori is so talented. She makes bows for my girls and the ones she made for Shelby and Jordan for their Easter dresses look amazing. Thanks Tor!!! Hope you like the pics!

Shelby's first time in her Bumbo a couple weeks ago. She like it at first...

Then not so much!

This is how I find Jordan a lot of the time. It's hard to see where they are and what they're doing but this is in the car and Jordan's sitting next to Shelby in her car seat, holding her hand =)

Shelby's warming up to the bumbo, especially if she gets to watch Bennett play Wii!

We found Jordan like this a couple days ago. She thought it was pretty funny! Thankfully she was only doing it to be funny and took it out once the attention was over =)

Bennett dying eggs...

Jordan while Bennett was dying eggs. Eating is more fun =)

The loot

A tradition that was started when Rhett was younger... Creamed Eggs on Toast for Easter breakfast. Yummy! I actually really like them =). Here's Jordan enjoying them...

Bennett decided he didn't like how they smelt so he went for a hard boiled egg wrapped in toast. Whatever works!

This is how I found Bennett and Jordan after I ran in the house to get Shelby for pictures. He sure loves his sis.

Love!!

Is she really crying AGAIN!?!?

Easter morning in action!

Bennett looks for his Easter basket

Watch Shelby smile at Bennett. Love it!

How it went...

Here's Shelby's birth story...

I went in to my normal check up on Feb. 6th with my mom. My due date was Feb. 3rd. The nurse midwife checked to see how far dilated I was and I was still just at a 3. AAAaaahhh!!! So she said that once I hit 41 weeks they could induce me. I told her that I was very worried that the baby was going to be too big to deliver without a c-section since 3 weeks before that the baby was measuring in at 8lbs on the ultrasound. If I waited until Feb. 10th to deliver and ended up needing a c-section, my mom returning to Arizona on the 14th, there was NO way I'd be able to take care of Jordan (she's dead weight... almost 35lbs and can't even roll over on her own... no way possible!) or recover without help. So I asked her if she could just ask the doctor on call if there was any possibility they could induce me sooner. She went and asked and they said yes!!! Woohoo!!! So, since I have all my check ups right at the hospital, they sent me to another room which is the "triage" room for labor and delivery and got me hooked up on my IV. To give you an idea of the time it took for all of this, my check up was at 2:10 and I didn't get my IV started until probably about 5 or 5:30pm. Once they told me they were going to induce, my mom drove home to be with the kids and Rhett came up to be with me. So right after they started the IV Rhett showed up. They gave me a bag of IV fluids before they stared my pitocin. I think they started that around 7ish?? The doctor came in and checked me at about 9 or so and I was only at a 4. Bummer. So he broke my water which wasn't so pleasant but really did the trick. Even before the nurse had left the room after cleaning up the fun mess, my contractions were crazy painful. With the pitocin running and my water broken, I wasn't going to last much longer without an epidural. So I had the nurse call for them to come give that to me. They were in the room within about 5-10 minutes and gave that to me. It only took effect on my left side until I was able to roll onto my right side and let gravity work its magic. After it spread some, Heaven!! The nurse checked me again around 10pm and I was complete. Wala! Only about an hour to go from a 4 to a 10. That's the kind of labor I like! I pushed a total of 12 times, 4 sets of 3 pushes. Bennett was over 2 hours of constant pushing so this was soooo fast compared to that. Shelby was born at 10:19pm and was perfect as could be. She got 2 9's on her apgar. Rhett was able to cut the cord which was neat since they didn't offer that to him in Provo with either Bennett or Jordan.

Shelby's almost 2 months now and is still such an easy baby. I'm glad that so far (knock on wood...) she's not the typically difficult 3rd child that I heard about frequently before I had her. She has beautiful blue eyes (Bennett and Jordan both have brown) and her hair is more red than when she was born, but most of her hair is in the back. Bennett and Jordan had pretty dark hair, and a decent amount on the back and tops of their heads. We are just absolutely in love with this little one. She's awesome! Here's some pictures and a video

Shelby's first bath!

Jordan LOVES her sissy!

She loves being anywhere close to her and will just lay there really still and watch...

And sometimes she wants to cuddle her face into Shelby's. Shelby isn't a fan of all the hair in her face =)

Bennett loves to love on his sissy too!

She's been so awake and alert lately! I love it!

So peaceful!

My wonderful friends here in Dayton threw me a baby shower! Around here they do one for every baby. It's great! So many people came and we all had a blast. Look at all this awesome stuff? This is minus 1 pack of diapers I had already used before I took pictures. Shelby is going to look so dang cute in this stuff!

Look at this awesome gift I got! I didn't take a very good picture but the top section says Lindsey, the next is B for Bennett, then J for Jordan, and S for Shelby. I can't wait to print off some pictures and get this hung up! My friend Sassy is SOOOO talented!

First smile caught on camera! I LOVE when she smiles!

LOVE this one! And no, Jordan isn't really eating her ear =). The camera is playing tricks!
