I've been tagged!

I've been tagged by Bethany to do this 7 things about me thingy so this is it =). Then, at the beginning of the month, Janell tagged me to do this other one and I just saw it a couple days ago when I was catching up on my blogs so I get to do that one too. Thanks Ladies =). This'll be fun. I just have to get creative... Here it goes.

7 things about me

1. You all probably know this but I was in band from 5th grade until I graduated high school. In fact, Marching band WAS high school. Good times.

2. I'm REALLY REALLY REALLY shy. I love making friends, I just don't go out of my way to do it which is really weird because my mom is the complete opposite. She'll talk about anything with anyone at anytime. I try to get out of my comfort zone but it doesn't work much.

3. I worked in a call center as a supervisor/QA/Trainer for about 4 years and had to deal with irate, screaming, swearing customers and I LOVED it. I guess number 2 only applies in person! I had no qualms talking to people over the phone and enjoyed telling them they weren't getting their money back. I guess I've gotta get my fill of control somewhere =).

4. I love watching murder shows on TV- not murder movies but all the Law and Order, Cold Case, Forensics, blood and guts type shows. I know, it's really weird. And, I LOVE watching professional sports. Some people think I picked it up from Rhett (who actually now avoids watching this kind of stuff at all costs...) since he was into sports in high school but my passion goes back to before the Suns were in the playoffs way way way back when Danny Ange and Jeff Hornasek played for them. It's probably one of my earliest TV memories =). And I am still a HUGE sports fan. Right now it's the "D"s. They made it into the playoffs!!!! It's been a tense few days around here... It might be hard to go to church sunday since there's a game on during that time... Mom, I might be calling you from my church's phone to get the score =)

5. I want to be a nurse. I don't know how this will ever happen anymore, but it's a hope =). I started taking nursing classes in college but since I found the hottest guy ever and had to keep him to myself before anyone took him away, I graduated with my associates ASAP and moved to Provo and started working. Then, with hopes of taking night classes after Rhett graduated, we had Jordan. You all kind of know the rest. Countless hospital stays (which another one is arising as we speak... Pray it won't!!), never knowing when we'll actually have a single 'normal' day without some sort of therapy or dr's visit or surprise visit to phoenix, who know when i'll get around to more education.

6. Hmmm. This is getting really hard. Thought of another...
I LOVE racquetball. I use to play all the time in college but don't get to anymore. If any of you out there want to play let me know and we'll head up to Mt. View and play some games (if you can handle it =) )! I'm actually probably no good anymore but back in college I did beat some of the really good male classmates of mine in my racquetball class!

7. I love Dr. Pepper. I know these are really boring things about me but I can't think of much else =). I think I got hooked in college when me and my roommate Jessica (love you!) would have all nighters, use our FHE brothers car and drive to Maverick at like 2 in the morning (Kurt and Kanani- bet you didn't know that! You guys were awesome RA's so I'm sure you would have been okay with it!!) and play rummikub over and over and over again. She would ALWAYS win. She taught me some good stuff though! I don't think anyone has beat me since then... Rhett pretty much refuses to play me anymore because it's a guaranteed loss for him =). It's great. I'm still addicted to Dr. Pepper. It was my new years resolution this year to stop drinking it and I lasted a couple of months which is really good! I showed myself that If I really put my mind to it, I can stop. That's all I needed. I'm sure I could do it again if I wanted but I don't really want to =).

That about does it! Not to exciting.

RULES:
A. List 7 habits/quirks/facts about yourself.
B. Tag 7 people to do the same.
C. Do not tag the person who tagged you or say that you tag whoever wants to do it.

I tag....
Julia, Meredith, Melody, Emily, Jessica, Robin, and Monica!!! Have fun!!

Here's the other one. It's all about me and Rhett.
1. Where did you meet your husband?
Technically we met when I was still in high school. We went on a double date with different people. He went with this girl we'll call Susie (that's not her name...) and I went with Susie's younger brother. We went 'handicap goofy golfing' which was really fun. You tie one of your legs with one of your date's legs together and proceed to golf that way. I thought it was very creative! After this double date the next time we actually saw each other was in a Trig class at Ricks. I recognized him from back at that double date but didn't remember his name or anything like that.

2. What was the first thing you said to you husband?
Well, when we first met I think the first thing I said was "didn't you go to Mt. View", or "aren't you from Mesa?" And I'm assuming you all read the beginning part of this post and remember that I'm really shy. This in itself was way outside my comfort zone =).

3. Where was your first date?
I have no clue. Up at Ricks you don't really go on dates, you just hang out a lot. I know we hung out a lot at "The Gardens", we did go to Gringo's a couple times, and one actual date I asked him on was an apartment date. All the girls in my apartment asked out a guy and we went to this place- I have no clue what it was anymore...- that had a fire pit. We were going to make tin foil dinners or something like that... or maybe it was something else we were making. I"m not sure. Anyways, this was in the dead of winter (probably in january or February) when there was a TON of snow on the ground. This place we were going to was pretty much in the middle of no where and hadn't been plowed or shoveled or anything like that so we had to trudge our way through about hip deep snow for a pretty long distance to get to this covered fireplace pit. One of the people in our group had a broken leg or something was wrong where some of the other guys had to carry him through it. Pretty funny looking back! Once we actually got to the fire pit, I don't think we could get the fire to start for a really long time, and then it wouldn't stay lit. It was an interesting night =). Fun memories. Jess, you'll have to remind me if you remember the details better than me =)

4. Where was your first kiss?
I think it was right in the entry way of my little house in college. I think all my roommates were asking him if he was going to kiss me so he did it. It was pretty soon after we met (I think probably about 6 weeks...) which I guess wasn't really soon after but given I had a boyfriend back in Mesa, it was pretty soon.

5. How long did you date?
We dated 9 months before we got engaged.

6. Did you have a long or short engagement?
Pretty average length for an LDS couple... 3 months exactly.

7. Where did you get engaged.
Well, i'll try to make this a fairly short story =). I think it was our "spring break" which consists of about 1 or 2 extra days off of school so all my roomates were out of town except 1, Brigette. We used Brigette's boyfriends call to go to Idaho Falls to go shopping at the mall down there. When we got back Rhett was acting really strange. Rhett said he had to go home to do something and Brigette said she had to go to the school to study. So I took a nap (which I did a TON of in college...) and when I woke up I couldn't get a hold of Rhett. So then Brigette came home and said that Rhett was really upset about something and I got really worried and walked over to his house to see what was going on but he wasn't home. I walked back to my house and about 10 minutes later he shows up and says that "we need to talk". So he's playing it up that he's about to break things off. Lovely!! So we go on a walk up the Rexburg hill (everything on campus is an uphill walk) and he's saying crap about me still having a boyfriend back at home (which hadn't been true for a long time) and how he had heard stuff through the grapevine or from my roommates about me dating other people or something like that... The memories are kinda fuzzy... I think I was telling him how none of that was true and he knew it and I knew that he knew it. I was considering turning around and walking straight back home. Good thing I didn't =). By this point we were in "the Gardens" at the top of the school and at that point I knew kinda what was going on. He and Brigette and one of his cousins that lives in Rexburg had set up a blanket with rose petals all over the place, with 2 wine glasses and a bottle of martinelli's and a bunch of candles. So then he told me to sit down and told me all the reasons he loved me and he was sorry to put me through what he just did and then he got down on he knee and popped the question! He had picked out the PERFECT ring all by himself. I was so proud of him! And it fit perfectly.

8. Where were you married?
In the Mesa, AZ LDS temple.

9. How did the reception go?
It was perfect. We had done pictures a couple weeks in advance so we only had to do a few group family pics after the sealing which was good because in the AZ heat in the end of June, it's not the most pleasant to be outside for a long period of time... Then we had the lunch in which was also perfect. Then at the reception we had people coming through our line non stop for about 2 1/2 hours. I think we got something to drink, and we heard everything was really beautiful, but we didn't really get to see it all on our own. We had a string quartet set up in the middle playing really nice music and it was just really nice and classy which is exactly what I wanted. It was really old school looking back, but it was perfect.

10. How was the Honeymoon?
Good! We stayed at a hotel in Scottsdale the night we were married. I was told later that the room had an indoor hot tub right in the room behind these double doors but we never saw it- really, we didn't even know it was there!!! We were really bummed. I wish someone told us before hand so we would have used it, but neither of us knew. It looked like it was just another door to the outside of the hotel. Bummer. My sister and Rhett's best man had gone to the room earlier in the day and put rose petals all over the floor and set up candles all around the room (which actually made a really big mess we had to clean up...) but it was great. Then the next day we caught a flight to Vegas and stayed at the Bellagio. Great room. I think it was really windy and we didn't get to see the entire water fountain show during the couple days we were there but we did get to go see "The O" which was spectacular. It's still running, so if you're in Vegas, I highly recommend it! Then we flew home and drove up to Northern AZ and saw Meteor Crater which is the best preserved meteor on the planet. It was really neat. Then we went home...

I tag the same people as before, and anyone else that hasn't been tagged yet =)

Here's a cute video of the kids practicing their sign language. This is one of the favorites- "All Done!" Some others that Jordan knows...
thank you, food, milk, baby, candy, more, water, thirsty and...... I know there's a couple more.....
Oh yeah! Play. I don't remember the other ones right now =)

I'm a little new with using the video recorder of my digital camera so bear with the REALLY bad video =). Jordan's hair looks a lot better in person =) Here's a picture that shows it a little more.

Fun with friends

Last night we had some friends of Bennett's and Jordan's over to play while their parents went to a meeting. We had so much fun! Bennett brought out Jordan's head bands and the kids were all stylin!

We're taking care of some stray kittens while we find homes for them. These are the nicest kittens you'll ever meet! For them to let a couple of 3 year olds hold them and play with them says a lot. If you know of anyone who wants one, let me know!!! They're free. There's these 2 plus one other that's brown/orange/black.

Backwards

If you read my latest 3 post they're going to sound funny. I meant for them to but posted the opposite of what they were. So they 3rd one that talks about is finally posting again, that was suppose to be at the top. Just so you don't think I've goon crazy... But I guess you can think that if you want =) Enjoy!!!

Jordan's new AFO's

AFO's are another name for leg braces. So you might catch me saying AFO's or braces. A few weeks ago Jordan finally got her braces! She had them fitted about 3 weeks before that and she just loves them. About a week ago we went back to the place that made them and got some shoes to go with them so we can work on standing exercises with her Physical Therapist whenever the state of Arizona gives us a "stander" to work with. I"ll keep you all updated on that (No, Jordan isn't even close to standing but with strapping her into a stander it'll give her leg muscles some exercise that she really needs). Since the muscles in her legs don't work right, Jordan is left with some issues in her lets that require these braces, or AFO's to assure they don't get worse. The top of her foot is really close to touching her shin. This is a constant position and can cause muscle damage and infected skin if it keeps going. So this is what the braces correct. While they're on, they keep her feet in a semi-normal position. It's pretty neat. Anyways, here's some pics. You can see that she has to wear long socks underneath (which are NOT easy to find!!) I'll have to get a pic of JUST the braces when she isn't wearing them sometime...)
Here they are! Daddy did a good job picking out the pink flowers and butterflies!
Here's my special Princess shoes! They light up and everything!!

They kind of make my legs look bent funny but I think that's just from my shoes looking really big and the camera playing tricks =)

Bennett thinks they're pretty neat too =)

First day of Preschool!

A couple weeks ago Bennett had his first day of preschool! I can't believe that in a couple years he'll actually be in Kindergarten!! Wow. Time really flies!

I don't know why I couldn't get these pics to turn. They're turned right in my picture files on my computer... I'm just not good at this I guess =). Bennett and daddy getting ready for the big day! Gotta have the Thomas backpack on wheels!!

Getting ready to get in the car to go to the first day of Preschool!

???? Your guess is as good as mine! Maybe he's trying to focus so he can learn lots =)

I caught Bennett putting together this Thomas puzzle all by himself in his room. He did such a good job!!!

After I took pictures of this stage of the puzzle he didn't want to do any more and took this all apart and threw it all around his room. I guess it's no fun if someone knows you're doing it...

Look at my new BIG bed!!! I'm such a big boy!!! It's almost just like mommy's and daddy's!

Showing Elmo the bed.

New Bug Jammies for a new bed!

Pretending I'm asleep on my new bed. I'm a pretty bad faker =)

What's going on!- Finally =)

It's been a few weeks since I've updated the post. Sorry about that! I'm probably not one to count on frequent updates- but hopefully I'll suprise you all and even myself =). I've got tons of pictures to post so be patient. I'll try to sift through them and just put on the good ones. But with my kids, they're all good =).
This is a pretty old picture but it's cute =). Jordan's finally going through a baby doll stage. I love it! Either she's really lovey dovey with them or she'll throw them (or more like fling them) as soon as she gets one in her hands. I caught her cuddling with this baby doll a while back and you can see from the next pic that she didn't really want me to see that she was being nice to her baby. =)

Now she's trying to shove her off the couch!

Lately Jordan's also been doing this really cheesy smile where she squints her eyes and pushes her shoulders up to her chin. She's really trying to work it =). In this picture we were at a pool party with all our friends and she has hot dog bun in her mouth. Very attractive! That'll be a wedding video shot =).

Last week my mom and I spent the day canning a couple boxes of Utah Peaches- So good!!. You'd think a 2 year old (well, 23 months!) would have issues with playing by herself a lot of the day but Jordan had no complaints at all. She LOVED the canning rings. It literally kept her happily busy all day! Unfortunately I can't say the same for Bennett but he did like to eat the peaches so that kept him pretty busy. I didn't get any pics of him though.
