Rhett's Lost Body

I almost never enter a blog post here on the Lindsey loop, but I had to get this off my chest. The other day a friend of mine sent me a picture from my High school days. It shows (starting from the left) Ian Eskey, Me, Matt Allen, Someone I can't make out, and Diane Harris basking in the sun after going jet skiing. What I noticed is how good my body looked back then. I had pecks, a six pack, biceps, etc. The strange thing is that in High School I was always concerned about how unbuff I was. Now I look at my body and wish I would have lived those days up! In other words, can someone help me find my lost body?

Volcano Fun with Daddy

Rhett, Bennett, and Jordan made these volcano's a few days ago and were finally able to watch them "blow" when the "ash" came in the mail. What fun!! (sorry that the first part of this is sideways!) Make sure you look at the before pictures and see the little men trying to flee for their lives!

Shelby

My computer shut down on me right as I was finishing typing up Shelby's birth story. Oh well. I'll save it for another day. I thought I'd give you an update of how our little angel is doing. To sum it all up, she's doing really well. We're surprised that she's as well as she is though...
When we were getting ready to leave the hospital they told us that she'd lost 12% of her body weight which is the most they'll let her loose without keeping her. They told us that they'd let us take her home if we started supplementing with formula and take her to her pediatrician the next day. So she started out at 8lbs 1oz. When we took her home she was 7lbs 2oz. We took her to the Dr. the next day and she was back up to 7lbs 13 oz already! Go girl! So the Dr. said we could stop supplementing if we wanted and then to bring her back in for her normal 1 week check up. We brought her back in a week later and she weighed in at 8lbs 9oz. Couldn't be better as far as that goes. She did have an ear infection though =(. At only 10 days old, her ear drum was bright red and bulging. Great way to start hu? And she had a little cough (but I started getting sick just a couple days before she was born so I'm sure she picked it up from me...). So we stared on some amoxicillin which she quite enjoys. The coughing continued to get worse and worse. We brought her back in on Tuesday of this week and they said she has a lower and upper respiratory infection. Oh boy. So they took a sample of it (very thick and colorful) to send it to the lab to see what we're dealing with. Her oxygen level was at 95% which is still pretty good. They also sent us to a medical supply store by the Children's hospital to get a nose suction machine. It's really cool! We use that every couple of hours to clean out her nose. We get TONS each time. I called the doctors office Thursday to see if they'd gotten the results back yet and they told us it was negative for the flu but positive for RSV. Yikes. She wasn't even 3 weeks old at the time! She's getting hit hard, really young. Her retraction in her ribs continued to get worse throughout the week so I took her back in yesterday. Her oxygen was at 93% so she's still holding her own as far as that goes. They sent us home this time with a prescription for our nebulizer machine to give her breathing treatments and told us to go to the hospital this weekend if it gets much worse. so far we're hanging in there though. I hope it just gets better from now on. She's had it for about 2 weeks now. The poor girl just coughs and coughs =(.

Here are some pics for you to enjoy.
The most recent pictures were from Valentines Day. I don't have my others uploaded yet so stay tuned!

I love this outfit! My mom made it. She used the top part of a onesie and then made the bottom using the same fabric as the quilt she made for Shelby, which she's laying on in these pictures. At the bottom it has a draw string ribbon thingy so you can close it up and she'll stay nice and warm! My explanation doesn't do it justice. You have to see it in person to really see how neat it is.

Cute dimples just like her brother. She looks JUST like Bennett except for her hair has a lot more red in it.

I LOVE my Grandma!

Shelby Joyce Lindsey

Shelby is here! We got home from the hospital just a little while ago. I'm feeling a little too tired to tell the "story" right now. Maybe if I get some sleep tonight. I just wanted to let you all know that we're doing great. Here's a couple pictures.

How?

I don't think my body knows how to go into labor on its own. Both Bennett and Jordan were at least partially induced. Who knows, maybe we won't have this baby until they induce me in a week. I hope that doesn't happen but I guess anything is possible. I'm 2 hours away from being past my due date. I need to just quite complaining and know that she'll be here soon. I walked the mall with my mom today for a while but that only seemed to make me contract less. I have a doctors appointment Friday so I'll be able to see if I've progressed at all. Hopefully we'll have a baby by then but I'm not going to hold my breath anymore!

No baby yet =(

Still no new baby. I'm very anxious. I'm having a hard time keeping up with things around the house and with the kids and I'm just exhausted all the time. This baby's been moving lots lately (except for today...) and I've been having contractions quite a bit. Last night they were coming at about 10 minutes apart but they didn't hurt much at all so I knew it couldn't be the real thing. So I went to bed hoping to wake up in the middle of the night in pain but that didn't happen. Bummer. I have a Dr.'s appt tomorrow so we'll see if I've progressed since last weeks check. Hopefully I have and they decide to just take the baby. I would be completely fine with that. Only 2 days till Grandma gets here. Bennett's been doing a great job keeping his room clean since he'll be sharing it with Grandma while she's here. I'm glad that's an incentive to him =). Too bad he can't work the vacuum yet =).

I'm working on getting some prego pictures but haven't remembered when I've looked decent =). I'm going to try to get a couple done before she comes!

Here's some fun pics to enjoy. We've had a bunch of snow lately. The news said the other night that we might get up to a foot. I don't think we got quite that much but it was a bunch. Rhett and Bennett shoveled our driveway the other night so these are some pictures from that. I'm sure with just normal snow it wouldn't be that big of a deal to dig out but since we got about an inch of freezing rain before the snow, it's made for some lovely driving (or avoiding it at all costs!). Our driveway is snow free but has a lovely sheet of ice on it. They canceled preschool Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Rhett's University was closed all day Wednesday. The Air Force Base here in town was closed Wednesday and Thursday. It's been pretty much a ghost town around here since the storm hit.

Short quick post...

I had the Dr.'s check me at my appt today and I'm dilated to a 3, only 50% effaced, and at a -1 station. The 3cm's makes me excited though. The Dr. said that since it's my 3rd I'll probably have a very quick labor once I start contractions. So she said that once they get to 7 minutes apart I better get to the hospital. She said that when you have more kids you end up dilating and effacing rather quickly at the same time once labor starts so to be on alert. I hope this baby waits for another week but we'll see =). My body is DONE!
